An Apprenticeship in the Mahua Lineage
For students who are deeply committed to the path of plant medicine, Don Wilder is opening a small apprenticeship to share the wealth of knowledge he learned from the plants and his abuelos. Don Wilder is excited to be opening this opportunity, and is looking for potentially lifelong students with whom he can share this knowledge.

What the Apprenticeship Covers
The apprenticeship is built around dieting master plants, including Noya Rao, under Don Wilder's direct guidance, and learning how a curandero of this lineage works. The apprenticeship opens with a six-month immersion, followed by opportunities to return at discounted rates.

- Regular ceremonies with Don Wilder
- Learning about the plants of the Mahua lineage and how they are prepared
- Icaros and the role of song in healing
- The ethics, responsibilities, and restrictions of the path
- How to work with the sacred pipe and other tools of the curandero
- How to prepare and cook the medicine of ayahuasca
- How to navigate difficult ceremonies, protect oneself from dark energies, and clean them from the space
- How to open, hold, and close your very own solo ayahuasca ceremonies
- And so much more
Wilder and the facilitators will teach many things catered uniquely to the group and to each individual student.
Don Wilder sets the plants and the pace for each student, so the detail of each person's immersion will differ.
What the Apprenticeship Is Not
This apprenticeship is not a blessing to serve medicine. We believe that the path of the curandero is a long path, and there are no shortcuts. It requires patience, discipline, dedication, and a constant willingness to humble oneself to the lessons of the path. There are many initiations and trials by fire which a curandero must undergo in order to gain the knowledge, wisdom, and integrity needed to walk this path in a good way.
There is no course that can be taken to learn these lessons. While this apprenticeship will be a deep immersion into the path, it is not the end, but only the beginning. This path of learning and growth is a lifelong journey.
Who It Is For
This apprenticeship is for dedicated students of the medicine, who are called to walk the path of the curandero seriously and over the long term. Previous dieta experience is strongly recommended, but not required. Other applicants will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Every applicant is screened for physical and mental health before acceptance.
Scholarships
One or two spaces in the apprenticeship are reserved as scholarships for dedicated students of the path who come from lower-income countries. When you write, tell us about your connection to the medicine and your circumstances.
Tuition
Tuition for the opening six-month immersion is $12,000 USD. After the immersion, students will have opportunities to return at discounted rates. Write to us for details of what is included and how payment works.
